Step off the map and into a world few ever glimpse, where ancient rainforests and living indigenous traditions intertwine. Your journey begins on Siberut Island, deep within the Mentawai Archipelago, home to the Sakuddei people. Guided by elders and expert local hosts, you’ll learn how this remarkable community lives in harmony with the forest - a way of life anthropologists have called “a Garden of Eden.”

Learn age-old hunting and gathering skills, explore medicinal plants, join in daily life within traditional longhouses, and be welcomed not as a tourist, but as an honored guest. This is slow, respectful immersion, a genuine cultural exchange built on curiosity and trust.

After a week on Siberut, cross to mainland Sumatra and journey into the Batang Toru Highlands, the last stronghold of the critically endangered Tapanuli orangutan, the rarest great ape on Earth. Fewer than 800 remain in these mist-wrapped forests, also home to tigers and sun bears. Wildlife encounters here are unscripted and deeply ethical: we move quietly, tread lightly, and witness nature on its own terms.
