Arrive in Entebbe and head west to the volcanic landscapes of Kisoro, gateway to Uganda’s most captivating wilderness. Begin with a golden monkey trek in Mgahinga National Park - a vibrant walk through bamboo forests led by expert rangers. Then, cross Lake Mutanda by boat, gliding past island villages and volcanic backdrops.
In southern Bwindi, meet local conservationists working at the frontline of forest protection. With the invitation of Batwa elders, take part in a guided walk that brings their ancestral forest knowledge to life, from tracking and foraging to storytelling and traditional healing. These encounters are intimate, respectful, and community-led, ensuring fair compensation and genuine cultural exchange.
Journey on foot along Bwindi’s ancient trails to Buhoma, where Batwa-led initiatives empower communities through guiding, crafts, and conservation education. Hear directly from the people driving change on the ground, turning heritage and knowledge into a force for sustainable futures.
Continue through Queen Elizabeth National Park, home to tree-climbing lions, elephants, and buffalo. Experience classic game drives and a tranquil boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, where hippos and crocodiles bask side by side.
Your final chapter unfolds at the Kafunjo Community Project, where hands-on volunteering connects you with meaningful local initiatives - from building and teaching to community gardening. Then, journey to Kibale National Park for a guided chimpanzee trek, a fitting finale to this exploration of connection between people, primates, and purpose.
